A Traffic Summit to look at the total traffic picture in Norwalk took place recently. It was a terrific opportunity for all of us in Norwalk -- and vicinity -- to put our heads together to come up with solutions.  Once the City has sifted through all the information a strategy plan will be presented.

In the mean time do not hesitate to contact officials, write letters to the editor, educate your neighbors and speak up at meetings about the need to take action for calm traffic.

Here are some simple solutions that make an immediate positive difference.
--- rideshare
--- telecommute
--- bicycle and walk
--- work flexible schedules
--- take a train or a bus
--- stay on main roads rather than cutting through sidestreets
--- travel the speed limit
--- take one trip not 10
--- allow extra travel time because calm traffic is worth it
