We're all in agreement. The problem is us. As a society, our excessive reliance on
automobiles - and the resulting spread of asphalt over every visible surface -- perpetuates
and intensifies the problems created by congested highways. The good news is that,
since we are the problem we can also be the solution.
Education is about changing behavior through public awareness. Education can be as
simple as word passing from one person to the next -- and the giving of praise for actions
that promote calm traffic.
In addition to person-to-person links Neighborhood Associations, Non-profit
Organizations, Government entities, the Media and Corporations each have a significant
role to play in educating the public. The public also can help educate them. Initiatives
and Programs can then be furthered and formalized.
