Who We Are
ACT (Advocates for Calm Traffic) is composed of members of the public throughout Norwalk in a joint venture with government and private sectors taking action to calm traffic.
When We Began
Initiatives for calm traffic likely predate the invention of the wheel. ACT evolved in the spring of 2001 while neighbors from dozens of streets that have been dangerously impacted citywide by large volumes of speeding vehicles successfully lobbied for the first portion of funding required to begin implementing Public Works traffic calming projects.
Where We Are Going
Our mission is to improve the level of safety and quality of life for the people of Norwalk through supporting actions that will calm traffic.
A number of pathways – both
direct and indirect – can achieve calm traffic.
ACT will support, advocate and lobby for action wherever calm traffic is
the expected outcome.
